New kid alert.

Meet our new content guy, Stu.

Stu is the latest addition to the good ship Chaptr; keeping a close eye on all things content, brand, social, and the remaining Nespresso pods in the office. Being a self-professed content junkie, we thought we’d let him pen his own introduction.

Who are you, then?

My name’s Stu; I like dogs, long walks on the beach, and punk music. I’ve also been working with content and wider marketing functions for about 5 years now.

What do you do?

I’m the Digital Marketing Exec for Chaptr, which can mean a lot of things.

I orchestrate our content calendar, making stuff that is nice and insightful for anyone interested in design, SEO and the like – while keeping it as entertaining and accessible as possible. I work with clients to get the best out of their online strategy; making sure the excellent work from our design and development teams is nice easy to find.

Aside from that, I’m a walking millennial cliche who enjoys writing lame poetry whilst listening to Leonard Cohen and drinking craft beer.

Where are you from?

I’ve moved about a fair bit; I was born in Minnesota, but I’ve lived in Portsmouth, Chicago, Leeds, Dubai, Madison – you get the idea.

Long story short – I live in Southsea.

When did you land the gig?

I interviewed about a month ago and found myself bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (thanks caffeine) ready for my first day last week.

How on earth did you land such a fantastic role?

Good question! I’d like to think it was just a great match at a good time; Chaptr was looking for someone with an eye for quality content and experience in wider digital marketing methods. I was looking for somewhere to give my creative muscles a stretch, and reading the job ad, I felt I fit the bill.

I decided to try and have some fun with my cover letter; part of the brief was to include five interesting things about yourself, but I wanted to stand out and get my personality across, so I tried writing them up as one of those dumb Buzzfeed listicles.

A big thing for me is keeping content accessible. I don’t care what you’re writing about, nothing has to be boring – there’s always somewhere to go to keep your audience interested in what you’re trying to say. In this case, the topic was me, so I was somewhat invested.

Anyway, my risky strategy paid off! It turns out the team loved my spin on the typically boring intro, and here we are. Chaptr has a mantra of creating quality and engaging content, and it looks like that’s what I’m here to do. I’m excited to get going, so here’s to making a large pot of coffee, and a top-quality content calendar.
