Chaptr and Peppered Collaborate on The Rose Theatre Website – Coming Soon

A Culturally Rich Theatre

With over 150,000 yearly visits, Rose Theatre is the largest producing theatre in South West London and a cultural hub, fostering creativity and innovation in the performing arts.

Founded by Sir Peter Hall in 2008, it’s a homage to the original Elizabethan Rose Theatre located on London’s Bankside, continuing the legacy of its historical counterpart by providing a vibrant platform for theatrical productions, artistic expression and community engagement.

The Perfect Collaboration

Chaptr exists to create impactful websites for brands engaged in creative arts and culture. The Rose’s ethos – “entertain audiences • elevate artists • empower our community” – echoes Chaptr’s values, which focus on engaging audiences, championing the arts, and supporting local communities. So you won’t be surprised to learn how excited we are to spearhead the discovery, UX, and redesign of The Rose’s website, built on Peppered, a powerful CMS designed to meet the unique needs of the cultural sector.

“This is the kind of project that gets our pulses racing at Chaptr. Our team has a personal connection to the arts and culture sector, and we champion its impact on our communities and its ability to inspire creativity and change. To be a part of expressing The Rose’s identity through design, to allow it to connect more deeply with its audience in the digital realm, is the kind of challenge we thrive off.”

Joe Perkins, founder of Chaptr.

In our early conversations with The Rose, Marketing Director, Alex Chisholm was excited by the challenge of creating a design that appeals to their diverse audience base:

“We’re excited to find a way to convey our heritage and signal the future with a design that connects with a broad audience from our local communities to greater London. We need our visual identity to be inclusive, reflect our values, and be dynamic and expandable so we can create a consistent identity and brand experience that begins with our digital and print media and continues as audiences enter the theatre. We quickly connected with Chaptr which has inspired creative thinking, developed our ideas, and presented a pathway to where we need to be.”

The project is well underway and we’ve conducted stakeholder interviews and a UX workshop as part of a comprehensive discovery phase to inform the visual exploration and development.
